The Wound & Ostomy Care Bridging Program is a 40-hour professional development course designed for internationally educated nurses and healthcare professionals who already possess clinical and educational experience in wound management and ostomy care.
This program bridges participants’ existing expertise with Canadian clinical standards and best practices, aligning with the Wound, Ostomy and Continence Institute (NSWOCC) and Wounds Canada guidelines.
Upon successful completion, participants receive a Certificate of Completion – Wound & Ostomy Care Bridging Program (Canadian Standards, 40 Hours) from Richmond Hill College.

Bridging to Canadian Practice:
Demonstrates understanding of Canadian wound and ostomy care frameworks, ethical standards, and documentation procedures in accordance with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) and Wounds Canada guidelines.
Employability in Transitional Roles:
Graduates gain competencies applicable to Wound Care Assistant, Ostomy Care Support, Home Care Specialist, or Clinic Coordinator positions, even before RN licensing.
