Energy & Environmental Safety Standards (OHSA) is designed for internationally trained learners—especially those with
backgrounds in engineering, environmental studies, manufacturing, construction, operations, and technical fields—who want
a practical, Canadian-aligned understanding of workplace safety, environmental compliance, and energy-efficiency practices.

Using real-world scenarios and applied examples aligned with common Canadian workplace expectations (including practices
across Ontario, Alberta, and British Columbia), learners build structured awareness of how safety systems, environmental
controls, and operational efficiency work together in regulated, safety-sensitive roles.

Module 1: Foundations of Occupational Health & Safety (OHSA Ontario)
This module introduces learners to the foundational principles of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) within the Canadian context. Students will explore key legislative structures, worker–employer duties, and the Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC) framework used across Canadian workplaces—particularly in provinces such as Ontario and British Columbia. Through theory, case-based examples, and applied scenarios from industrial environments, learners will develop a clear understanding of how safety culture is established and maintained. By the end of this module, participants will be able to interpret OHS requirements, recognize workplace hazards at a conceptual level, and understand their role in contributing to a safe working environment.

Module 2: Environmental Protection & Sustainability Standards
This module provides a comprehensive overview of environmental protection principles and sustainability standards relevant to Canadian industry. Learners will examine both federal and provincial environmental legislation, pollution-prevention responsibilities, energy-efficiency concepts, and waste-management fundamentals. Real-world examples from Ontario, Alberta, and British Columbia illustrate how environmental standards are integrated into everyday industrial operations. The module also introduces the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System (EMS) framework and its organizational benefits. By the end of this module, students will be equipped with foundational knowledge of environmental compliance and sustainable operational practices.

Module 3: Workplace Safety Systems & Risk Assessment
This module focuses on the essential components of workplace safety systems and risk-assessment principles in Canadian industrial settings. Students will learn how risks are identified, evaluated, and controlled using recognized Canadian approaches. The module covers emergency preparedness planning, Safety Management Systems (SMS), regulatory compliance expectations, and the importance of documentation in maintaining workplace safety performance. Practical examples from manufacturing, warehouses, construction, and energy sectors across Canada help learners understand how safety systems are implemented in real environments. By the end of this module, participants will be able to conceptually assess workplace risks, understand compliance duties, and describe how safety systems support organizational performance.

Module 4: Energy, Environment & Workplace Integration (Bridging Module)
This capstone bridging module integrates the concepts of energy management, environmental protection, and workplace safety to prepare learners for the Canadian job market. The module emphasizes the interconnected nature of energy efficiency and safety, environmental risk identification, and professional communication standards in Canadian workplaces. Learners will also develop career-readiness skills, including résumé writing, interview preparation, and understanding Canadian workplace culture. The module concludes with exploration of career pathways in environmental, safety, and energy-related fields. By the end of this module, participants will be able to apply integrated thinking, communicate professionally, and prepare effectively for employment in the Canadian industrial sector.

Ms. Anaz Najafi Mehri is a certified professional groomer who began her career at Pet Stylist Academy in Iran, where she completed her formal training in pet grooming and styling.

After immigrating to Canada, she continued her professional journey in the pet care industry, working as a senior groomer for over two years while simultaneously training Canadian learners through intensive two-month theoretical and practical grooming courses.

Her teaching approach emphasizes hands-on learning, professional ethics, and business readiness, helping her students confidently start their own pet grooming ventures.

Currently, Ms. Najafi Mehri serves as the Founder and President of Mr. Dog Club Inc., a registered company based in Richmond Hill, Ontario. Under her leadership, Mr. Dog Club has evolved into a professional multi-service pet care center offering grooming, daycare, and training — setting new standards in quality and client satisfaction within the Canadian pet industry.
