Description
Developmental Service Worker (DSW) Bridging Program is a 40-hour hybrid training delivered over a three-month period by Richmond Hill College in Ontario, Canada. The program introduces learners to the foundations of developmental services and prepares participants to support individuals with developmental disabilities in community and residential settings.
Through six structured modules, participants explore key topics such as developmental disabilities, communication and relationship-building, person-centered support, daily living assistance, health and safety awareness, professional documentation, and ethical practice. The training combines theoretical learning with practical case-based discussions reflecting real situations in group homes and community support programs.
This program is designed for newcomers, caregivers, and individuals interested in community support roles who wish to gain an introductory understanding of developmental services in Canada and strengthen their readiness for employment in the sector. Participants who complete the program receive a Certificate of Completion from Richmond Hill College.
